Durabal Design Studio takes a design-first, performance-led approach. We help homeowners, architects and fabricators understand the key decisions — how each opening should move, what it should be made from, and which glazing will deliver the right mix of comfort, efficiency and atmosphere.
Motion Shapes Experience
Before you choose a frame or a finish, it helps to decide how each opening should move — pivot, hinged, French, sliding, bifolding, lift & slide, or slide & fold.
Hinged
Single or paired leaves with a clean, controlled swing — from discreet concealed hinges to expressed knuckles for a more traditional or industrial character.
French
Paired doors with a defined central meeting stile — ideal where symmetry, character and everyday usability matter more than extreme span.
Sliding
Linear motion for uninterrupted glass and minimal intrusion into the room. Low-friction carriers and soft-close options keep even larger panels feeling light in hand, with the option for VOLTA® powered motion where required.
Bifolding
Panels that stack to the side for full openings — straight, corner or pocketed configurations. Well-engineered carriers and guides keep movement controlled and stable over time.
Lift & Slide
Panels lift to release seals and slide with ease, then settle back for increased sealing pressure when closed — ideal for heavier glazing, exposed locations and high-performance envelopes.
Slide & Fold
A hybrid between sliding and folding — linear travel with a compact stacking arrangement. Useful where space is tight but wider clear openings are still required.

A diffuse, softly illuminated finish that obscures direct views while maintaining a calm, even light. Well suited to bathrooms, sidelights and boundaries where discretion is required.
